Classes : Classes will take place during the day on Saturday, Sunday & Monday. The festival is organized into five levels (details below). For everybody's benefit, please choose the right level adapted to your dance skills. Note that, generally, the materiel taught is almost the same for all of the different levels, adjusted as appropriate by the teachers to suit the degree of experience in each class. The most important is to be in the level where the explanations you’ll receive will be right for you and help you grow as a dancer. If you choose an inappropriate level, teachers will have the possibility to move you to another one. Each level will have eight 1 hour and 15 minutes classes (total = 10 hours, 2 classes with each teaching couple). There will be an audition for the highest level, held at the beginning of the festival. If you register for either the top two highest levels, you must take part in this audition. For this reason, the option to register for either of the two top level is the same on the registration form.
Level Blanche Hermine You started lindy hop not long ago and you're already mad about it. You know the basic steps and have already progressed to basic variations, in lindy hop and charleston. Level Duchesse Anne You dance regularly and you are comfortable with basic variations (lindy circle, lindy turn, swing out). You have an idea about connection with your partner. You dance regularly and you have attended some workshops. You are able to alternate 6 and 8 counts and can dance Charleston to fast tempos (side-by-side or hand-to-hand).
Level Bonnets Rouges You have danced regularly for a few years and you have attended workshops with the best teachers in your home country. You’re not afraid to go to another city to go to dances or workshops there. When you dance, you don’t think of performing variations; you adapt your dance to the music. Your technique allows you to dance to practically all rhythm.
Level Lancelot You never stop attending workshops in and outside your country. You dance to any tempo and your connection with your partner is very precise. You don’t think, you just dance. You are regularly selected for the highest levels at international dance festivals.
Level Telenn Du You have already been a finalist in a jack’n jill at an international workshop. You have your own dance style. You may talk for hours on : « On which quad-eighth note should the leader engage in a swing out ? ». And you think, this question deserves such consideration. Tasters : In addition to classes, you will be able to attend 2 taster classes. The registration for these will be by completing another form
before the beginning of the festival, to manage the limited number of places available for some
of them. Routine jazz (Laurent et Sara - Toulouse) Routine jazz (Olivier - Montpellier) Theater Improvisation & Social dancing (Gildas - Rennes) The aim of this taster is to use concepts and techniques of theater improvisation in social dancing.
